- “video pasta book”?
“video pasta book”?
Does this sound familiar to you?
You’re walking in the street, brushing your teeth or doing some other random activity when your mind casually drops one of the best ideas you’ve ever had.
It’s sooo good. But now is not the right moment to put it into practice, you got stuff to do.
So you go on with your day sure that it’ll stick into your mind.
But once it’s time to use that idea…you can’t remember it.
Complete darkness.
It seems like your brain has done spring cleaning and thrown that super idea straight into the bin.
This used to happen to me all the time, but I’ve found a solution.
Whenever my brain comes out with good insights.
When that happens, I open my notes app and write it down.
This way, I have a database of ideas to use whenever I need them.
It’s crazy how a simple habit can have such a big impact, especially if you do a lot of creative work.
For example, last week I had to script a video but had no idea what to write, so I took out my phone and opened the notes.
And thanks to one of them, I found the inspiration for a video that now has 1,5M views.
All because I wrote that note.
Now, I do have to say that if you have a cluttered mind like mine, sometimes you’ll find yourself with strange, no-sense memos on your phone like: “video pasta book”
(I’ve never read a book about pasta and I have no clue what that note means)
Anyways, these are the action steps from today’s email:
Download a notes app on your phone and create an “ideas” file.
When a good thought pops into your mind, write it down IMMEDIATELY, trust me, you won’t remember it later.
Only write keywords, you can’t compose an essay when you’re in line at the supermarket, so be simple
Whenever you lack inspiration, check the file.
If something you wrote a few days ago still looks good, it’s probably a gem.
And if you want to turn those gems into content that makes you 1-5k a month.
